A tour focusing on architecture, history and art.
This program is meant for those who are looking for architectural curiosities, and for whom even the smallest details matter: a rare sgrafitto, a balcony of exceptional design, a backyard with medieval artefacts, unusual courtyards, staircases and interesting labyrinths; sights that we usually don’t include in our regular city tours. We will take you to see the buildings of the Museum of Applied Arts and the National Bank, then we will have a walk through the VIII. district. We put special emphasis on the life in the Cafés of Budapest with visits to some of the historic cafés of the town built in art novo and art deco style. (They are the New York Café, the Gerbeaud, the Ruszwurm with its traditional cream cake, plus the Museum of Hungarian Art with the art nuovo Bedo Café.)
